Announcing the Public AI Seminar
Dear all,
A group of colleagues from Harvard, Metagov, Chatham House, and Public Knowledge are organizing a new research seminar to study public AI — publicly accessible AI provisioned by governments and other public bodies. Public AI represents a third political economy of AI: one that is more equitable than private AI, more accessible than open source AI, and safer than both.
The seminar will run for 8 weeks between Jan 9 and Feb 27, and will feature talks & discussions led by Bruce Schneier (Harvard), Diane Coyle (Cambridge), Lawrence Lessig (Harvard), Julia Angwin (New York Times), and Ganesh Sitaraman (Vanderbilt). We are currently recruiting a small group of seminar members; joining the seminar is an excellent chance to develop a piece of writing with an engaged community.
For more details, including how to join, please visit the seminar page. Please feel free to forward this notice. Apologies for any cross-posting.
Best,
Josh
